Walmer Woodlands supplies NC native ferns to the NC Botanical Gardens.

We can also grow specific ferns to order.  It can take over a year with some ferns to start with spores and deliver a hardened plant.  According to our nursery license we can only sell ferns locally in NC.  

Walmer Woodlands has a few plants that are available locally in Chapel Hill, NC if someone is interested.  There include:

• Hellebore / Lenten Roses
• Tricyrtis hirta / Toad Lilliy
• Dryopteris erythrosora  ‘Brilliance’, Autumn Fern

We are actively propagating ferns from spores but these will not be available for a while.  Species that we have spores in culture include:

• Dryopteris australis, Dixie Wood Fern
• Polystichum munitum, Western Sword Fern
• Diplazium pycnocarpa, Glade fern
